I was responsible for worldbuilding and art passes on the Act 1 Tristram environment. This scene was particularly fun to work on- In addition to adding elements that would make the space feel more like it was a proper town like lamp posts, docks, roads and a proper town entrance (the goal was for it to feel as if it could have been a hubtown were it not destroyed, as was its purpose in D1), I also wanted to take the opportunity to mend some of the inconsistencies between Diablo 1 Tristram and Diablo 2 Tristram. While I couldn't make changes to the locations of the river, I could show evidence of the old road to the cathedral, the additional houses that are missing, and present some worldbuilding around familiar locations like Wirt's smuggling.
